Waking up with unexplained marks - anyone else experienced this?

I'm genuinely disturbed by this and not sure where else to post. Woke up this morning (8th October) with three small marks on my shoulder blade - they form a perfectly straight line, about 2cm apart. They're not painful but they're definitely not something I did to myself - can't reach that spot easily, and they appeared overnight. I didn't bang into anything yesterday, no scratches from activities, nothing.

The marks are already fading but I managed to get a photo. What's concerning is I have a vague memory of waking up around 3am feeling very strange - sort of aware but unable to move. It passed quickly and I went back to sleep. This morning I found the marks.

I'm wondering if this is connected to anything paranormal or if I'm just being paranoid. I've read about abduction marks online and they seem to match some of the descriptions - particularly the precise, geometric pattern. Has anyone else woken up with unexplained marks like this? Should I be concerned?

The inability to move you described is called sleep paralysis - completely normal neurological phenomenon that happens to loads of people. Your brain wakes up before your body does, so you're conscious but can't move. Feels terrifying when it happens. As for the marks, could be bedbugs, a reaction to laundry detergent, literally dozens of mundane explanations before you jump to alien involvement.

Sleep paralysis is definitely part of the alien abduction phenomenon though. That's when they access you. The marks are sample extraction points - they're collecting biological material. The fact that you can't remember clearly is normal, they usually suppress your conscious memory of the event. Do you have any other symptoms - unusual dreams, missing time, technology malfunctioning around you?

That's classic sleep paralysis timing - usually happens in the early morning hours during REM sleep. The 'strange feeling' could be the well-documented sense of presence that people experience during episodes. The marks could be anything - a reaction, a dermatological thing, even just your body's pressure against something. Get them checked by your GP if they don't fade in a couple days.

Take more photos as the marks fade - document the changes. If they reappear in the same pattern, that's more indicative of something systematic. One occurrence could be coincidence, but if it's repeating, that's when you start considering alternative explanations. Keep a sleep diary too - note any unusual dreams, feelings, times you wake up. Build a proper record.

Don't panic. This could be innocent but it's worth taking seriously. Keep the photo, note the date and time. If anything similar happens again, document it immediately. There are practitioners who specialise in abduction case analysis - they can do a proper interview and help you figure out what's actually happening. Would be worth getting in touch with someone trained in this rather than relying on internet forum advice.
