Reporting a sighting from last night (13th April, approx 10:15pm) on the Yorkshire moors near Haworth. I was out walking the dog - yes, I know that's a bit late, but our collie is a nightmare and refuses his evening walk until after 10. Weather was cold but clear, no clouds, decent visibility.

I saw three distinct lights in a triangular formation moving silently across the sky from west to east. They weren't aircraft - no navigation lights, no sound whatsoever, which was the main thing that struck me. Commercial flights over this area are regular and loud. These were completely silent. The colour was orange-white, quite bright against the dark sky.

They maintained perfect formation while moving - absolutely rigid geometry. They weren't wobbling or drifting like balloons would. After about 90 seconds they accelerated quite dramatically and disappeared over the horizon incredibly quickly. The acceleration was smooth rather than sudden, but the speed was absurd. No conventional aircraft moves like that.

I was completely alone - the dog was more interested in a sheep than the sky, unfortunately. No other witnesses that I could see. I took a few photos on my mobile but they're absolutely useless - just three blurry dots, could be anything. I didn't get video, which I immediately regretted.

Before anyone asks - I'm not claiming alien spacecraft. I'm claiming I saw something I couldn't identify moving in a way I've never seen before. That's literally what UFO means, right?

Good, measured report. The silent aspect combined with the acceleration is the most interesting detail. Could you describe the acceleration more? Did they gradually build speed or was it more instant? And did the formation maintain through the acceleration?

Haworth area has seen quite a bit of activity over the years. There was a notable sighting in 1996 not far from there. The triangular formation is pretty common in reports too - whether that means something significant or just that human brains prefer pattern-making, who knows?

Blurry phone footage is still footage though! Upload it even if it's rubbish - sometimes other members can enhance it or spot details you missed. What time exactly was it? Precise time helps cross-reference with other reports and satellite data.

Have you filed a report with the official sighting databases? MUFON, NUFORC, the UK-specific ones? The more documentation the better, especially with a specific time and location.

Silent craft with that level of acceleration points toward either classified military (which is theoretically possible) or something non-terrestrial. The rigidly maintained formation suggests intelligence/control. Interesting sighting either way.

Exactly. This is the proper approach to reporting. You saw something unidentified. That's factual. Whether it's interesting or mundane or extraordinary is for other people to debate. Cheers for the clear report.
