My dad and I witnessed something strange on the Yorkshire moors near Haworth last Tuesday (November 8th) around 6:15pm. Thought I'd report it properly here rather than just telling mates in the pub.

We were doing a bit of autumn rambling - perfectly clear evening, excellent visibility, been getting dark early so it was dusk but not completely black yet. We were about three miles from Haworth, up on open moorland.

Suddenly, we both noticed these lights - roughly two hundred metres away - moving in formation. Three of them, arranged in a triangle, moving in absolute perfect synchronisation. Not like planes, not like helicopters, just... gliding. They moved across the sky in about thirty seconds, completely silent, and then just vanished behind the ridge.

My dad reckoned it was aircraft, but he also admitted they were moving at a weird angle and way too silent. We didn't get any photos - my mobile battery was dead, which is annoying.

Key details: November 8th, 6:15pm, Haworth area, clear conditions, three objects, triangle formation, totally silent, 30-second duration, moving northwest.

This is a solid report - good level of detail. The formation flight is interesting, especially if they maintained perfect synchronisation. That rules out conventional aircraft pretty thoroughly. The Haworth area has had a few reports over the years too, so it's not unique.

Dead phone at the time? Convenient. Could be electromagnetic interference, or could be coincidence. Did the phone come back on properly afterwards, or was it just flat?

Brilliant sighting. The triangle formation is significant - it's one of the most commonly reported patterns in UK UFO literature. I'd suggest submitting this to NUFORC as well, and maybe the Yorkshire Paranormal Society if you haven't already.

Question: was there any sound at all? Sometimes people report low-frequency humming that's not quite audible but you feel it. Just checking because that's pretty common with these formation sightings.

moving in absolute perfect synchronisation
This detail is actually the most reliable indicator you're not looking at conventional aircraft. Human pilots can't maintain that level of precision formation flying in near-darkness. Brilliant observation.
