Report details: Date 5th November, 2024, 19:35 GMT. Location: Yorkshire moors near Hebden Bridge. Witnesses: 4 people (myself, my partner, and a couple we met hiking). Duration: approximately 12 minutes. Weather: clear night, excellent visibility, temperature roughly 8°C, gentle breeze from the west.

Description: We observed a complex formation of white-blue lights in the sky, arranged in what appeared to be a geometric pattern (roughly triangular but with additional smaller lights around the perimeter). The formation was stationary for approximately 8 minutes, then the lights began moving in synchronized patterns - not like conventional aircraft. Movement was extremely fluid and non-linear. Then the entire formation just... vanished. Not gradually dimmed, not disappeared over the horizon - literally just cut off.

We've checked: flight path maps for the area (nothing scheduled), military exercises (none reported), astronomical events (no meteor shower that night), and the local aviation authority (no reports of unusual activity). All four of us saw the same thing and independently drew similar descriptions before discussing it. I've got photographs (attached below) though they don't capture the movement obviously. Has anyone else observed something similar in the North?

Interesting report and decent documentation. The geometric formation aspect and synchronized movement are worth noting - most conventional explanations have trouble accounting for those details. Do you have the photographs visible anywhere? Also did any of you experience anything after the sighting - unusual dreams, electromagnetic sensations in devices, anything like that? Not asking you to confirm aliens, just asking whether there were secondary effects worth documenting.

This sounds like it could be lanterns or drones, honestly. Geometric patterns are possible with coordinated drone swarms and they can move quite fluidly. As for the sudden cutoff - could be they switched off lights and descended below the horizon faster than you could perceive. Not saying that's definitely what it was but it's worth considering before jumping to UAP conclusions. What's your assessment of the objects' distance from you?

That description matches some reports from the 1990s in Scotland. There's actually a pattern of triangular light formations across the UK going back decades. Whether that's conventional or not is the debate, but you're not alone in seeing this. There's a researcher in Edinburgh tracking these reports - I can dig up the contact info if you're interested in reporting this officially.

The synchronized movement and geometric formation rules out most conventional explanations. Drones don't move that fluidly in formation, and they have to descend gradually. The instant cutoff suggests either (a) a physical object disappearing in a way we don't understand, or (b) lights being remotely controlled and switched off simultaneously from a distance. Either way, solid report and good documentation. Well done getting witness statements aligned before comparing them.
