Location: Bodmin Moor, near Rough Tor
Date: 14th November, approx 4:15 PM
Weather: Clear, visibility excellent, last light of the day
Witnesses: Myself and my girlfriend

We were hiking and stopped for photos about a mile from the car park when we both saw something move between the rocks about 200 metres away. At first I thought it was a deer or large dog, but it stood upright on two legs. The shape was vaguely humanoid but the proportions were off - too-long arms, oddly jointed movement. It watched us for maybe thirty seconds then moved away between the boulders with a gait I've never seen before. Definitely not a person in a costume.

Neither of us had signal to photograph it. We're not crackpots - we both work in healthcare and we're rational people. But we both saw exactly the same thing and we're genuinely unsettled. Anyone else seen anything similar on the moor?

Bodmin Moor gets reports of upright creatures fairly regularly - there's the Beast of Bodmin (though that's usually described as more cat-like) but there's definitely something out there. Your description matches other eyewitness accounts from the area. The awkward gait and proportions are interesting details - people usually either report humanoid OR animal, not a hybrid description. Might be worth contacting the local cryptozoology group.

Could have easily been someone in fancy dress or just a person whose proportions looked weird in the failing light. Twilight messes with depth perception and shadows can create strange shapes. The fact you didn't get a photo is typical of these sightings - always conveniently out of frame or camera shy. Occam's Razor suggests it was a human and your brains filled in the "wrong" details.

This is the kind of detail that actually makes your report credible to me. Real witnesses describe genuine perceptual anomalies - they don't just say "big monster, very scary." You noticed something objectively unusual about how it moved. That's worth noting.

Did either of you feel anything unusual before or during the sighting? Electromagnetic interference, temperature change, that odd tingling feeling? Sometimes these encounters have physical effects on witnesses that help establish they actually experienced something genuine.

Bodmin Moor is genuinely eerie - been there loads of times for hiking and the whole place has a weird vibe. Could be an undocumented primate population, could be something else entirely. You did the right thing reporting it with proper details and witness corroboration.
