The Rendlesham Forest incident—anyone think it might've been cryptid-related rather than UFO?

Controversial take, I know, but hear me out. The Rendlesham Forest incident in December 1980 is typically filed under UFO/government cover-up territory. But what if what those RAF lads encountered was actually something more... cryptozoological?

The details that stick with me: witnesses described a metallic object, but also reported strange animal sounds, unusual lights moving through the forest at ground level, and a subsequent pungent smell. There's also the fact that East Anglia has had tons of big cat sightings over the years, and cryptid activity often correlates with unusual electromagnetic phenomena.

I'm not saying it wasn't a UFO. But I'm wondering if anyone's seriously considered that maybe the witnesses saw something that didn't fit into easy categories. Something that could've been either. Thoughts?

Interesting angle but Rendlesham is so heavily documented and analysed that I think we'd have seen a cryptid explanation emerge by now. The radiation readings, the physical landing traces, the military's actual response - that's all pretty UAP-specific. A big cat wouldn't cause radiation spikes. I think you're reaching, mate, but I appreciate the creative thinking!

What if it was both? What if there are creatures in these forests that we don't understand, and the 'UFO' aspect was something else entirely? The witnesses' testimonies are genuinely weird and don't fit neat categories. Maybe that's the point.

Having read the original incident reports, the metallic nature of what they saw really does rule out cryptid. The beam of light, the electromagnetic effects on equipment - those are UAP signatures. I think the big cat theory is fun but doesn't fit this particular case. Rendlesham is UFO all the way, sorry!

The sounds recorded that night were supposedly 'unidentifiable animal vocalizations.' Everyone assumes alien ship. But what if it was something genuinely unknown that lives in those woods? I'm not saying it's a Bigfoot-type creature, but something. The forest has secrets. Maybe multiple kinds of secrets.
