That Bodmin Beast segment on ITV News—anyone else think it was miles too soft?

Caught the bit on ITV West Country news last Wednesday about alleged big cat sightings near Bodmin. And honestly? Absolute fluff. They interviewed a farmer who swore blind he saw something "the size of a German Shepherd" but couldn't provide anything beyond "it had big teeth." No proper investigation, no discussion of the livestock patterns, no mention of the seventeen credible witness reports from 1982 onwards.

They spent more time chatting to some bloke from the zoo saying "it's probably an escaped lynx" than they did actually exploring the evidence. Proper frustrated me. If mainstream media spent half the energy on cryptid phenomena that they do on celebrity gossip, we'd have answers by now.

Did anyone else watch it? What was your take? Are we just expecting too much from telly news these days?

Media has zero interest in real investigation. They want the spectacle without the substance. That's why we have forums like this - because the "grown-ups" won't do the legwork. Keep your reports coming though, mate. Some of us are paying attention.

That's ITV for you. They're more interested in whether a cat exists than in, you know, actual journalism. Although to play devil's advocate - every big cat story out of Cornwall in the last 20 years has had zero photographic evidence. At some point, don't we have to accept it's probably just rumour?

Watched it on catch-up. The presenter had that "I'm humoring you people" tone the whole time. Classic mainstream dismissal. They'll believe a politician's lie but not hundreds of consistent eyewitness accounts. Mental.
