Right lads, caught something properly odd on my dashcam driving past Manchester airport around 19:45 last Tuesday. Object appeared stationary above the terminal building for roughly 90 seconds before moving vertically upward at ridiculous speed. No sound whatsoever.

I've stabilised the original footage as best I can and uploaded it. The object appears metallic, roughly triangular but with some sort of rotation happening. I've ruled out drones (too high, wrong movement pattern) and helicopters (no noise, wrong shape). Been flying that route for 8 years, never seen anything like it.

Would appreciate technical analysis from anyone with video editing experience. Cheers in advance.

Good stabilisation work. I've been looking at this for about twenty minutes now and I genuinely can't debunk it. The altitude is the killer - you're right about the drone theory. Could be military hardware, could be something else entirely. Have you contacted the airport directly?

Mate, this is clearly a weather balloon. No, wait - I'm having a laugh. Seriously though, the movement in frames 34-47 is interesting. That's not a standard platform of any aircraft I've catalogued. You might want to check if there were any RAF exercises that evening.

The vertical ascent is the giveaway. No conventional aircraft can move like that without creating a sonic boom. Unless it's CGI, but the stabilisation looks legit to me. Submitting this to my contacts at the MOD. Don't hold your breath though - they'll probably say it's swamp gas or reflection.

I work in air traffic control at a different airport. Can tell you with absolute certainty that nothing was reported on radar that evening in that sector. Which is either really interesting or means your camera has picked up something genuinely anomalous. Either way, good catch.
