Right, so I've been living near Bodmin for about five years and I'm not usually the type to report weird stuff, but this is the third time in four weeks I've seen genuinely odd lights over the moor. Thought I'd document it properly in case anyone else is seeing similar activity.

Sighting 1 (Oct 12): Around 9:30pm, clear night, saw what looked like a bright orange ball moving slowly across the sky from northeast to southwest. Lasted about two minutes, then just vanished. No sound, no aircraft lights visible. Saw it from my back garden near Blisland.

Sighting 2 (Oct 28): Similar timeframe, around 10pm. This one was different - white light, more stationary, hovering about 200 feet up I'd guess. Moved in patterns that seemed deliberate rather than random drift. Watched it for about four minutes before clouds rolled in.

Sighting 3 (Oct 31): Three separate lights in a triangular formation, moving too slowly to be conventional aircraft, too fast to be balloons. Bit spooky being Halloween and all, but genuinely unexplained.

I've checked the RAF Davidstow flight paths, weather balloons, that sort of thing. Nothing accounts for these. Has anyone else in Cornwall been seeing this? I'm planning to do some proper monitoring with a camera on my property - wondering if I should report it anywhere official?

The Bodmin Moor area has decent paranormal history - sightings dating back centuries. Could be connected to something deeper geologically or spiritually. That said, the pattern you're describing (orange then white, then formation) suggests multiple phenomena rather than one repeating thing, which is interesting. Might be worth checking if there are magnetic anomalies in your area.

This is good due diligence. If you want to report it officially, contact the MoD's UFO Desk directly (still exists despite denial that anything happens). They probably won't do anything, but it creates a record. You could also contact MUFON UK - they maintain databases of sightings.

I'm in Devon and I've heard reports from other locals about odd lights over Dartmoor at similar times. Could be a broader phenomenon. Weather conditions? October tends to have clear nights. Possibility of atmospheric phenomena creating unusual reflections? Just asking questions, not dismissing your observations.

Get a decent camera ASAP - ideally something with night vision capability. Ring camera or equivalent, set it to record when there's movement. The documentation will be crucial. Also keep a proper log with exact times, weather conditions, witness details, everything. If you're going to investigate, do it properly.

The triangular formation thing is worth noting. That's a pattern that appears in many UFO sightings, particularly the Phoenix Lights incident in Arizona. Probably coincidence, but interesting. Have you noticed any electromagnetic interference? Electronics acting weird, that sort of thing?
