Strange lights over London Underground—King's Cross incident

I work as a signaller for London Underground and I witnessed something absolutely bizarre last Friday (1 November) at around 11:45pm near King's Cross station. I know this is going to sound mental but I have to report it.

I was on duty in the control room monitoring the Northern Line. The electrical systems started showing anomalies - momentary spikes in power draw with no corresponding train movement. Within seconds, three colleagues and I saw these bright white lights moving through the tunnels on the north-bound track, roughly 200 meters away. They were moving fast, maybe 40-50 km/h, and they were definitely not train lights.

The lights were silent. Train-related movement is never silent. I reported it to my supervisor and we sent someone to investigate, but nothing was found. No debris, no signs of anyone in the tunnels.

I'm not keen on going public because of my job, but I needed to get this out there. Has anyone else had underground or subway-related incidents?

This is fascinating. The electromagnetic interference with the power systems is really significant. Were the anomalies logged? If they were, that's data we can work with. Even if the organisation downplayed what happened, the electronic records would be there.

I'd be cautious about discussing specific details about TfL infrastructure security, if I'm honest. Not to be paranoid but your job could be at risk. That said, unidentified lights in the Underground is genuinely weird and I'm sorry you had to experience that. It must've been disturbing.

Could there be a rational explanation? Maintenance vehicles, reflected light, electrical discharge creating plasma? I'm not dismissing your account - I'm asking whether the investigation turned anything up. Sometimes there are mundane explanations that management doesn't communicate clearly.

Underground activity is under-reported because people in safety-critical roles understandably don't want scrutiny. But I've heard similar stories from railway workers before. There's something about the London Underground that seems to attract anomalous phenomena. Historically, there are records of strange incidents going back decades.
