I was standing on Waterloo Bridge last night with my girlfriend, and we both witnessed something quite unusual. Around 10 PM, we saw a series of lights moving across the sky above the Thames, roughly in the direction of Southwark.

The lights were amber/orange in colour, roughly evenly spaced, moving in a formation. They weren't moving particularly fast - definitely slower than a standard aircraft. They made no sound that we could hear (though we were in the middle of London, so there's background noise). The sequence lasted about forty seconds before they disappeared behind the buildings towards the south.

I initially thought Chinese lanterns, but the movement was too controlled and coordinated for that. My girlfriend thought maybe military aircraft. Honestly, I'm not sure. I was hoping someone else in London might've seen it? Anyone on here live south of the river and catch this?

Could you describe the spacing more precisely? And did they maintain a consistent distance from each other, or did it look like they might be separate objects? The reason I ask is that we can sometimes misjudge perspective with lights in the night sky. What looks like a formation might actually be one object moving in a particular way. Do you have any video footage?

Blimey, Waterloo Bridge is one of the best vantage points in London. Surprised you don't get more reports from that area. There's definitely been an uptick in UK sightings over the last couple of years. I'd recommend filing a report with MUFON UK and also checking with the local papers - the Standard might be interested if you can describe it well.

Sounds like either military flares or a classified drone test. There's a lot of activity over London that people don't realise is happening. The Ministry of Defence does test advanced systems quite regularly, and Whitehall has access to technology that's decades ahead of what the public knows about. That's not a conspiracy, that's just how military development works.

I saw something similar over South London about five years ago, and I've never been able to explain it properly. The official explanation is always "military exercise" or "weather balloon" or whatever, but these sightings are too consistent to dismiss. Something's happening in our skies and the authorities aren't being transparent about it.

Did you notice any electromagnetic effects? Phone acting weird, streetlights flickering, that sort of thing? Sometimes that's correlated with genuine UFO sightings. Also - and I know this sounds odd - any unusual dreams that night or the next morning? Some witnesses report unusual sleep patterns after sightings.
