I've been listening to the "Strange Frequencies" podcast (there's a UK-based host doing proper investigative work) for about three months now, and it's genuinely refreshing compared to most paranormal content. The host, Sarah something, actually questions her sources, follows up on leads, and doesn't just accept every anecdote as gospel.

Episode 6 about the Welsh cryptid sightings was particularly good - she tracked down several witnesses from the 1970s, interviewed them professionally, and was honest about what she couldn't verify. She also called out a few obvious hoaxes without being mean about it.

Honestly, most paranormal podcasts are just people credulous-posting for 45 minutes. This one feels like actual journalism. Anyone else listening? What are your thoughts?

I'll give it a listen based on your recommendation. I'm so tired of podcasts where every single thing is treated as 100% real without any critical thinking. The Welsh cryptid episode sounds good - are there actual documented sightings from that period or is it all folklore?

Sarah's been doing good work. Her episode on the Skinwalker Ranch situation was refreshing because she didn't just accept the sensationalist claims - she looked at what's actually documented versus what's speculation. That's rare in this space.

You're not wrong. There's a real gap in the market for actually professional paranormal investigation and journalism. Most people doing this stuff are hobbyists without training in critical evaluation. Strange Frequencies fills that gap pretty well.

Fair warning: if you find actual good paranormal content, the community gets weird about it. People prefer sensationalism to actual truth. Not saying Strange Frequencies will face backlash, but rigorous investigation doesn't always play well with certain crowds.
