I've been meaning to write this up for ages and keep bottling it, but I think I need to get it out there. So this happened back in August, around 11pm on the Northern Line between Elephant & Castle and Borough. I know it sounds mad.

I was heading home from work, absolutely shattered, and I remember the carriage being nearly empty - maybe five or six other people scattered about. The lights flickered once or twice, which happens all the time on the tube, so I didn't think anything of it. But then I noticed this bloke sitting a few seats down, and he was wearing clothes that just... didn't fit right. Like the proportions were off. His arms seemed too long, or maybe his torso was too short? I can't quite explain it. The angle of his head when he looked at me felt unnatural.

Here's where it gets weird: I blinked, and he was gone. Not got off at a station, not moved to another carriage - just wasn't there anymore. The doors hadn't opened, the train hadn't stopped. I looked around and no one else had reacted, so either they didn't notice or they were pretending not to. I got off at the next stop feeling properly freaked out.

I've mentioned it to mates and they all think I was tired and imagined it, but I know what I saw. Has anyone else had experiences on the Underground? I'm wondering if it's something to do with electromagnetic fields or whether I'm just losing it.

That's genuinely unsettling. The London Underground has always given me weird vibes - there's something about those old tunnels. I haven't had anything quite as specific as your encounter but I've definitely felt strange presences down there. Some people reckon it's residual energy from the bombing during WWII, others say it's something else entirely. You're definitely not alone in this.

Right mate, this is classic sleep deprivation. You were absolutely knackered, your brain was filling in gaps, and boom - unexplained figure on the tube. Happens to the best of us. The proportions feeling off is just how our minds work when we're exhausted and not paying proper attention. Not everything paranormal needs an explanation beyond "I was tired."

It doesn't sound mad at all. There are loads of reports of humanoid figures in the Underground system - I've got a whole folder of them. Some people describe them as glitches in reality, others as interdimensional beings. Either way, the consistency of your description matches patterns I've seen before. Document this properly: date, exact time, carriage location, what you were wearing, your emotional state. It all helps build a picture.

Electromagnetic fields definitely affect perception - that's scientifically proven. The Northern Line runs through some interesting geological areas too. Could be natural EMF spikes causing temporal perception issues. Might be worth checking if there was any maintenance work happening that night.

The Underground is basically a liminal space, innit. It's the perfect environment for something odd to happen. Don't let the skeptics get to you - you know what you experienced. Keep a journal of any other incidents and see if there's a pattern. Also maybe avoid that section of the Northern Line for a bit if it's making you anxious.
