Been using one of these for three months now and I've got some thoughts. For context: I'm experienced with investigation equipment, I'm not a beginner who doesn't understand baseline expectations, and I don't believe every bit of static is a ghost chatting back.

The Good: Build quality is solid. Feels expensive in a good way. The sweeping is smoother than the budget alternatives I've tried. Battery lasts ages - I got four full investigations out of one charge. Interface is intuitive, buttons don't feel like they'll snap off after six months unlike the knock-off versions.

The Bad: The audio playback is tinny as anything. You need headphones to make out anything properly. Software updates kept bricking it - had to factory reset twice. At £349 it's pricey for what amounts to a fancy radio scanner with a digital readout. You can get 80% of the functionality for under £100.

The Honest Bit: Would I buy it again? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Only if you've got money to burn or you're running a commercial ghost tour operation. For serious investigators on a budget, look elsewhere.

Thanks for the honest review - this is exactly what I needed before dropping three hundred quid on it. Been looking at the Paranormal Puck instead, have you tried one? Only £89 and seems to get decent reviews on YouTube.

Disagree on the audio quality - I think it sounds fine, you just don't like bass-heavy equipment. The software issues are valid though, I had the same problem. Support was helpful when I contacted them, took a week to sort. Wouldn't put me off buying it again but yeah, could be better.

For the price point it's competing with proper ghost hunting equipment, not radio scanners. You're getting what you pay for in terms of design and durability even if the performance specs are debatable. I've had mine for two years, still works perfectly.

Bit unfair though innit. It's not a radio scanner, it's specifically engineered for paranormal investigation. The tuning speed, the frequency range, the audio filtering - these aren't standard radio features. Different tools for different jobs.

Appreciate the detailed review mate. Most people just say "it's brilliant" or "it's crap" without explaining why. This is useful information. Cheers for taking the time.
