This is going to sound mad, so I'm just going to lay it out straight.
Mid-September, I was alone in my two-bed in Salford. About 11 PM, I was talking to myself while making tea - you know, the usual "where did I put the biscuits" nonsense. Finished the sentence, and I heard a distinct echo from the bedroom. Not a reflection off hard surfaces. An actual repeated phrase in what sounded like my own voice, but slightly delayed and compressed, like a badly dubbed film.
I walked into the bedroom. Nothing. Empty room, windows locked. Did it again on purpose - said "hello, is anyone here?" and got back "hello... here." Same pattern. Over the course of an hour, I tested it maybe a dozen times. It works maybe 70% of the time, always with a 2-3 second delay.
What's mad is it's still doing it. It's now been two months. I've had an electrician check for dodgy wiring (nothing), had a mate come over to check I'm not going insane (he heard it too, which was both reassuring and horrifying). It only responds to my voice, not to visitors.
I'm not scared, exactly, but I'm definitely unsettled. Has anyone experienced something similar?
