Saw something strange over Bodmin last night - two witnesses, clear as day

Me and my mate Dave were driving back from the pub around 23:45 on Friday night (22nd November, so last week) when the sky just... lit up. Not like lightning - this was a sustained greenish glow directly overhead, completely silent. We pulled over near the A30, got out, and watched it for what must've been three minutes. It moved in these jerky, stop-start patterns that no conventional aircraft does.

Weather was clear, no clouds, maybe -2°C. I had my phone out but my hands were shaking too much to get steady footage. Dave swears he saw smaller lights detaching from the main object, but I'm less certain about that bit. The whole thing just... switched off. Like someone flicked a light switch. Absolute silence before and after.

I know Bodmin gets a lot of attention because of the Beast and the whole reputation, but this felt genuinely odd. Anyone else in Cornwall see anything that night?

Mate, the greenish glow is interesting. That's not typical UAP colouration you usually see reported. Were there any power cuts in the area? Sometimes transformers blowing can create that effect, especially if you're seeing it reflected off cloud cover from a distance. What did Dave think about the details after you'd both had time to process it?

Friday 22nd November... checking my notes here. RAF Chinook helicopter reported missing from base that evening, returned about 00:30. Not saying it's definitely that, but the timing and location would match up. Bodmin isn't far from the flight corridor they use.

This is what gets me every time. Something that moves intelligently and then demonstrates power control of that magnitude isn't falling into the "misidentification" category. I'd be very keen to see whatever video you managed to capture, shaky or not. The timestamp data alone would be valuable. Have you filed a report with MUFON UK?

Bodmin Beast sighting from 2021 mentioned similar greenish lighting in the area. Completely different phenomenon, obviously, but interesting that people are reporting unusual activity in that general region. The moors attract something, whether it's extraterrestrial or interdimensional or just our brains playing tricks in the dark. Who knows.
