Saw something hovering over the tree line behind my house last night and I can't stop thinking about it

That tree line detail is interesting because a lot of reports I've read place sightings right at the boundary between open space and dense vegetation. Like whatever it is seems drawn to edges. Could be coincidence but it keeps coming up.

What was the rough size compared to the trees? That's usually the first thing I try to nail down when people describe hovering objects because it rules out so much straight away - drones, weather balloons, that kind of stuff. Also did it make any sound at all or was it completely silent?

I had something similar back in 2019, behind my old place just outside Durham. Couldn't explain it then and still can't. The hovering with no visible propulsion is what gets me every time, theres just no satisfying mundane answer for that behaviour.

Definitely post any photos or video if you've got them, even blurry ones are worth sharing on here.

@RiverShadow170 yeah the edge habitat thing is well documented in Bigfoot research too, they consistently favour ecotones - forest margins, creek edges, areas where two terrain types meet. Makes sense from a survival standpoint, maximum cover with maximum visibility of open ground.

The UFO/treeline pattern is interesting though because it suggests something different, more like surveillance behaviour than shelter-seeking. Been reading accounts from the US Pacific Northwest where both phenomena cluster in the same geographical zones which is either a massive coincidence or something worth taking seriously.

What direction was it hovering relative to the tree line? That detail actually matters more than people realise.
