Saw something hovering over the tree line behind my house last night and I can't stop thinking about it

That feeling of not being able to stop thinking about it is something a lot of people describe after a sighting. Like your brain just keeps looping back to it no matter what you try to do. I've spoken to a fair few witnesses over the years and that mental replay is almost universal.

Would really help to know more details though. How long did it hover for? Was there any sound at all, or was the silence part of what made it weird? A lot of the cases I find most credible are the ones where people specifically note the absence of sound rather than any obvious lights or movement.

Also whereabouts in the country are you? Not asking for your exact location obviously, just curious whether this matches anything else thats been reported in the area recently. There have been a cluster of reports from the north west over the past few months that haven't really been explained.

@AmaraFamiliar that looping sensation is really common and honestly worth paying attention to rather than dismissing. Some researchers think it's the brain trying to reconcile something it couldn't file away properly - like it keeps returning to the memory because it genuinely doesn't match any existing category.

What were the conditions like? Weather, time, how long it was visible? Those details matter a lot when trying to rule things out. Suffolk skies can throw up some weird stuff with the air coming off the coast, I've seen lights over the tree line near Rendlesham that turned out to be perfectly explainable, but I've also seen things I genuinely couldn't account for no matter how hard I tried.

Don't second guess yourself out of reporting it just because you're worried about sounding daft. Get the details down while theyre still fresh.
