That feeling of not being able to stop thinking about it is so familiar to me, even though my experiences have just been crop circles rather than anything aerial. There's something about witnessing something you can't explain that just lodges itself in your brain and won't shift.
What colour was it roughly? And when you say hovering, was it completely still or more of a slow drift? I always find the movement details are the ones that stick with people the most, and they're usually the hardest to explain away.
Would love to hear more if you feel like writing it all out. Sometimes getting the details down helps you process it a bit, and it also means folk here can give you more useful thoughts rather than just guessing.
