Saw something hovering over the lake behind my house last night and now I can't sleep

Mate that would have me absolutely wired too, no way I'd sleep after something like that. What sort of size are we talking? And was it making any sound at all?

I had something similar a few years back, saw lights over the fields behind my house in Essex, just hovering dead still then gone in like half a second. No noise, nothing. Reported it on here actually but never really got a proper explanation for it.

The lake thing is interesting though because theres loads of documented cases of UAPs over water. Something about water seems to attract them, whether its energy related or they're coming up from underneath I dunno. Worth looking into.

Did you get any footage or were you too caught off guard? Even a blurry photo would help narrow down what it might have been.

The sound question is important - in my experience hovering objects over water tend to produce a very low subsonic hum that you feel more in your chest than hear properly. Did you notice any animals going quiet beforehand? Dogs, birds, that sort of thing. The fauna response often tells you more than teh object itself does.
