Blimey, that gave me goosebumps reading that. I had something similar happen a few years back over the estuary near where I live in Pembrokeshire - just this silent hovering shape that didn't behave like anything I could explain away as a drone or a bird. The silence is what gets you isn't it. You expect something that size to make noise and when it doesn't your brain just sort of... refuses to file it properly.
Did you manage to get any photos or video? Even a blurry one can be worth posting up. I've been getting into paranormal photography lately and even the rubbish shots can sometimes show something when you mess with the exposure settings after.
Would love to hear more details - how long did it hover, did it move off quickly or just sort of fade out? The ones that linger are the ones that stick with you the longest I reckon.
