Saw something hovering over the lake behind my house last night and I can't explain it

Right so before everyone jumps in with "it was a drone" - what was the light behaviour like? Static, pulsing, rotating? That's usually the first thing that separates the mundane stuff from the genuinely unexplained cases.

I had something similar over the Thames about two years back, hovered for maybe 4 minutes then just... gone. No fade, no movement away, just not there anymore. Reported it to MUFON and got absolutely nowhere with it which was predictably useless.

Lakes and large bodies of water keep coming up in encounter reports and honestly thats not a coincidence in my view. There's a decent body of research suggesting correlation between UAP activity and water sources - whether that's for energy, concealment, or something else entirely is another argument for another day.

Post whatever details you can remember. Altitude estimate, duration, any sound, weather conditions. The more specific you are the better chance someone here can actually help you work out what you saw rather than just speculating wildly.

Good question @IsabelleShadow. Also worth asking - did it make any sound? Because drones sound like a swarm of angry bees having a domestic dispute, you cant really miss it. If it was dead silent that changes things considerably.
