Right so this kind of post is exactly why I joined this forum. Living near Pendle I've had my fair share of odd experiences over the years but a hovering object is something else.
Few questions before people start jumping to conclusions either way - how high up was it roughly? And was it making any sound at all? That's usually the first thing I ask because drones are everywhere now and they do catch people off guard at night, but they have a pretty distinctive hum. Complete silence is a different matter.
Also did it move at all while you were watching it or just sit there? The ones that just hang completely still are the ones that stick with me more than anything that zips about.
Don't let people dismiss you on here, some of the responses you'll get will be sceptical and that's fair enough, but you know what you saw. Write down every detail you remember now before it starts to fade. Time of night, weather, how long you watched it, all of it.
