Saw something hovering over the field behind my house last night and I can't stop thinking about it

Right so I need to hear more about this because the field detail is what's getting me. There's something about objects choosing to hover over open land rather than populated areas that comes up again and again in these reports and I genuinely think its significant, like whatever intelligence is behind these things is aware of being observed.

How high up was it roughly? And did you feel anything - pressure in your ears, strange smell, that weird stillness where even the animals go quiet? That last one gets reported so often it's basically a calling card at this point.

I had something similar years ago near the coast here in Cornwall, standing in a field at maybe 2am and the whole atmosphere just changed before anything was even visible. Like the air got heavy. Still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

Please post everything you remember, even the stuff that seems too small or weird to mention. Those details are usually the most important ones.

@Bev43 the field thing is interesting isn't it, like they specifically avoid Tesco car parks even though there'd be way more witnesses. Maybe they've had enough of humans doing their weekly shop at 11pm in pyjamas and decided fields are cleaner somehow.

But no genuinely - do you think its about avoiding structures or power lines? I've read

@Bev43 the field preference isn't random, I'd put money on it. Been looking into this for years and the pattern I keep coming back to is soil composition and what's underneath. The best documented crop circle sites in Wiltshire sit on chalk aquifers, and a huge number of hovering reports come from farmland with similar geology. Whether that's coincidence I genuinely don't know but it stops feeling like coincidence after the hundredth case. Whatever these things are they seem to know exactly where they're parking up.
