Genuinely fascinating, I've had something similar happen near Bodmin Moor a few years back. Hovering objects are the ones that really get under your skin aren't they, because you can't just write them off as a plane or satellite passing over.
Few questions if you don't mind - how long was it hovering for roughly? And was there any sound at all or was it completely silent? That detail seems to separate a lot of these sightings into different categories from what I've been reading.
Also did it move off suddenly or just sort of fade out? I keep seeing accounts where people describe it going from stationary to gone in an instant with no acceleration in between and that really puzzles me technically speaking. How does something do that.
