Right, I've just finished binge-listening to The Long Dark, a 12-part podcast about paranormal reports that spike during the winter months. The presenter, some chap called Marcus Webb, really knows his stuff - he's interviewed cryptozoologists, old-school ghost hunters, and even a few folklorists from the Scottish Highlands.
What I liked: proper research, no sensationalism (mostly), and some genuinely creepy stories from November through February. The Rendlesham Forest episode in part 3 added a few details I'd never heard before. What I didn't like: a bit repetitive in the middle sections, and the audio quality on the Yorkshire moors recording was absolutely dire.
Rating: 7/10 - worth your time if you're after something to listen to on dark nights, but don't expect anything earth-shattering. Fair warning though, I won't be listening to episode 9 again before bed.
