I've been re-reading the original Rendlesham Forest statements from December 1980 and I want to propose something slightly different to the standard narrative. Everyone focuses on the Halt memo and the night-time forest encounter, but there's a daytime sighting on Boxing Day morning that barely gets mentioned. This is crucial because it suggests the phenomena was present for multiple days, not just one incident.

What if the night encounter wasn't the main event - it was a secondary manifestation? The daylight sighting involved a structured craft hovering low, visible to multiple personnel, and yet Halt's report completely downplays it in the official narrative. I'm wondering if there was deliberate compartmentalisation of information, even within the base command structure.

RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters personnel - if you're lurking on here, would love to hear if anyone has family connections who knew the witnesses.

This is interesting stuff. The Boxing Day element is definitely underexplored. Most accounts focus on the 26th night because that's when Halt got involved and made it 'official'. But you're right that something was clearly happening across multiple days. Whether it was extraterrestrial, classified military tech, or something else entirely is another matter.

Rendlesham's been picked apart more than a Sunday roast and the most likely explanation remains: misidentified lighthouse beams, military exercises, and a senior officer (Halt) seeing what he wanted to see. The 'new' timeline analysis doesn't change that the physical evidence is basically non-existent. No burn marks, no metal samples, nothing concrete.

Actually, there's a fascinating bit in one of the lesser-known declassified documents where it mentions radiation detection equipment being deployed. If true, that suggests someone in the chain of command took the radiation aspect seriously enough to measure it. That's not something you'd do for a lighthouse beam.

Does anyone have access to the full original security police logs? Not the Halt memo transcriptions but the actual logs themselves? I've heard rumours that there are details in those logs that never made it into any official summary. Probably just folklore at this point though.
