Puma/lynx in Scottish Highlands - Recent sightings cluster?

Has anyone been tracking the recent reports of large cats in the Scottish Highlands? I've been documenting sightings for the past three months and there seems to be a genuine cluster of credible accounts between Braemar and the Cairngorms.

The accounts are consistent: tawny/reddish colouring, around the size of a large dog, moving with a distinctive feline gait. Several witnesses mention the cat appearing to stalk them before losing interest. No attacks reported, which is good.

My theory is there's either a breeding population of feral lynx (possibly escaped from captivity decades ago) or a transient individual - possibly an illegally imported puma that escaped. The recent sightings might indicate it's denning in the area for winter.

If anyone has photos, videos, or witness accounts from that region, please share. I'm building a database and I think we might have something genuinely documentable here rather than pure folklore.

There's definitely something on the Highlands, and it's not just cryptid folklore. Forestry Commission has documented evidence of large predation patterns that don't match native species. They won't go public because it would cause panic, but it's real.

The 'big cats' of Scotland have been reported for decades though. Most sightings turn out to be misidentifications of deer, wild boar, or large dogs. That doesn't mean there's nothing there, but it's hard to separate genuine cryptids from pattern-matching human brains.

I've got dashcam footage from near Kingussie in August - something large crossed the road about 200 metres ahead. Couldn't identify it clearly but definitely feline movement. I can email it to you if you want it for your database. The fur colour matches what you're describing.

Please be careful publicising exact locations if you genuinely think there's a dangerous animal. Tourists and hunters turning up with guns isn't going to help anyone, human or cryptid.
