Possible poltergeist activity in Stoke flat - happening right now

OK so I'm probably going to sound mental but I'm typing this at 23:47 and legitimately spooked. My mate came round about an hour ago and we've both witnessed some very weird stuff in my Stoke flat.

Started with drawers opening in the kitchen - slow, like someone was pulling them. I thought it was just warped wood or draught at first, but then it happened to the same three drawers in sequence. Then lights in the hallway started flickering, but only the left side ones, not the right. My mate actually saw a chair in the lounge move about six inches on its own.

It's about 28 degrees Celsius in here (I have a thermometer for my reptile tank) so it's not cold spots or anything textbook like that. Both of us are sober, we've not been drinking or doing anything dodgy. The flat's about 80 years old, Victorian conversion, previous tenant left quite suddenly apparently.

Should I call someone? Film it? I'm genuinely unsure what to do and I'm too freaked to sleep.

Right, first things first: film everything. Get it documented. Second: check your electrics. Dodgy wiring can cause all sorts - lights flickering, appliances behaving weirdly. It might not be paranormal but you need to rule out the mundane dangerous stuff first. Call an electrician in the morning before you do anything else.

How solid is your mate as a witness? Not being funny, but people see what they expect to see when they're in an expectant state. If you're both sitting there thinking "this is haunted," you might be unconsciously spotting movements you'd normally ignore. Confirmation bias is powerful.

Stoke has some interesting history actually. Is your flat in Hanley or out towards Kidsgrove? There's supposedly some old industrial incidents in that area. Worth checking the history of the building. And yeah, get the electrics checked, but honestly this does sound like it might be something paranormal. Keep a log - dates, times, what happens, who witnesses it.

Have you checked for vibrations from nearby traffic? Warehouses? Heavy vehicles can cause vibrations that make objects move in ways that seem impossible but are actually just physics. Especially in older properties with dodgy floorboards.

The fact it's warm rather than cold is actually interesting because people often associate hauntings with cold spots, but there's no scientific basis for that. Keep us updated please, this is genuinely interesting.

Stay in the flat. Don't leave tonight. Get more witnesses. This is the kind of thing you need multiple observations of. And honestly, if it's happening right now, you need to document it - video, audio, temperature readings, everything. This could be actual evidence.
