This is going to sound strange, so bear with me. I was visiting the Borley Rectory ruins last month (November 23rd, around 7 PM, twilight) doing some amateur photography. I wasn't there specifically to investigate the paranormal, just taking autumn photographs of the ruins because they're atmospheric and photogenic.
I was alone, it was getting dark, and I noticed a shape in the overgrown garden area - humanoid, but the proportions were off. Too tall, or oddly proportioned. It was there for maybe 5 seconds, then it moved behind a tree and didn't come back out the other side. Not something I could have missed - I was watching.
I was alone. I'm fairly certain of what I saw. Not a person (wrong shape), not an animal (movement was upright and coordinated). The site is known for apparition reports, obviously, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had experiences there recently. Any rational explanations I should consider?
