Pendle Hill—visited last weekend, something wasn't right

So I took a walk up Pendle Hill (Lancashire) last Saturday with my partner and a mate around noon. Beautiful weather, clear day, good visibility. We were just doing the tourist thing, bit of history about the witch trials and that.

But about halfway up, around the old stone wall section, things got... odd. The temperature dropped maybe 10-15 degrees in a specific spot. My partner commented on it first - I thought she was being daft but I could feel it too. There's this one section of the path where it's noticeably colder. Not a draught. Just a cold zone.

More unsettling though: we were the only people on the hill that day apart from an old bloke we saw near the bottom who was, I dunno, watching us. Not in a threatening way exactly but he never looked away. And when we came back down a different route, we didn't see him again even though he'd have to pass us.

I'm not saying ghosts or anything stupid, but I wanted to check if others have noticed temperature anomalies on Pendle. There's something about that location. The local history is dark enough without adding weirdness.

The temperature thing could be geological - certain rock formations and cave systems release cold air. That said, Pendle's reputation is earned. Nineteen people executed during the trials, one more died in prison. That kind of trauma leaves marks. Whether those are metaphorical or actually paranormal is the question, innit.

I've been up Pendle maybe twenty times and never experienced anything. Though I did chat to a local in the pub (Barley Mow, brilliant beer by the way) who mentioned that certain spots are avoided by long-time walkers. Not out of fear exactly, just... preference. He didn't elaborate but that's telling.

The old bloke could've just been a regular walker. Pendle attracts a lot of history enthusiasts and there's usually a few solitary types up there. Though I'll admit the not-seeing-him-again part is odd if there's only one main route down.

I'm fascinated by this. Planning a trip up there myself in a couple weeks. Do you remember roughly where on the path the cold spot was? I've got some temperature monitoring equipment I could bring. Would help establish if it's consistent.

Pendle's one of those places that genuinely feels different. Even if there's no paranormal explanation, there's something about the weight of history. The witch trials were brutal. That's psychic imprint territory regardless of your beliefs.
