I know Pendle's more famous for the witch trials than actual hauntings, but I've read some interesting reports over the years about strange lights and voices up there, especially on the approach to Winter Hill. Has anyone done proper investigation work on the actual hill recently?

I'm thinking of organising a small group investigation sometime in the autumn. The visibility should be better and the weather less grim than winter. But I want to know if there's actually anything worth investigating or if it's all just historical atmosphere. Any locals on here familiar with recent activity?

Did a group investigation there about five years ago. Absolutely nothing. Lovely walk, nice views of Lancashire, but paranormally it's dead as a doornail. The whole thing is just tourism capitalising on the trial history. You'd be better off investigating somewhere with actual reported phenomena.

Nah mate, Pendle's brilliant for a day out but go to Malham Cove or Weathercote Cave if you want proper activity. Or honestly just drive over to Bodmin - at least you've got a chance of something weird happening there. Pendle's been so picked over by researchers there's nothing left.

I grew up near there and my mam always said the hill itself felt wrong on certain days. Nothing you can measure, just an atmosphere. Worth going for the experience even if you don't capture anything. Make it a nice weekend away, do the walk, stay at the pub in Newchurch.

If you do go, check out the actual trial sites in the village itself rather than the hill. The King's Arms pub is supposedly very active - lots of reported cold spots and objects moving. At least you can have a pint between investigations.
