Right, I'm still not entirely sure what to make of this. My girlfriend and I went up Pendle Hill on the 3rd of November, about 4:30pm, just before the light started going. Weather was clear, bit nippy. We were about halfway up when we both heard what sounded like voices - proper old-fashioned singing, like a church choir or something medieval. Very distinct.

Neither of us could work out where it was coming from. I had my torch on, and when I swung it around, I could've sworn I saw shapes moving between the rocks. Not people exactly, more like... shadows with weight to them? The singing stopped abruptly, and we both got this awful chill. Took us about ten minutes to decide to head back down. The whole thing lasted maybe five minutes total.

Has anyone else had experiences on Pendle? I know it's got history with the witch trials and all that, but I'd always thought that was just local legend bollocks.

Blimey, that's quite the tale. Pendle's got some seriously dark history - the executions in 1612, the whole witch trial thing. There's definitely something in the fabric of that place. I've walked it dozens of times and never heard anything like what you're describing, but I've definitely felt... watched.

Did you notice the temperature drop get worse as the singing continued? That's usually a good indicator of something genuinely anomalous rather than just your mind playing tricks.

Could've been wind through the rocks creating that sound, to be honest. I'm not trying to be a spoilsport, but acoustic illusions are more common on hills than people think. The "shapes" could easily have been pareidolia in fading light. I don't mean to be dismissive - just offering a rational explanation.

Mate, there's LOADS of reports from Pendle over the years. The singing thing is actually documented in paranormal literature about the area. You might want to cross-reference with the Pendle Hill Society records. They've got archived accounts going back decades. Sounds like you had a genuine encounter.

This is fascinating. Did you take any photos? Even if they don't show anything, the metadata could help establish exactly where you were when it happened. Also - was there anyone else on the hill at that time? Sometimes sensitive individuals pick up on residual energy from group experiences.
