Hi everyone! I'm Alex, based in Manchester, and I've been lurking on the forums for about a month but finally decided to create an account and introduce myself properly. I'm genuinely excited to have found such a thoughtful, engaged community around paranormal topics.

I've been interested in the paranormal for years - started when I read about Borley Rectory in secondary school and kind of went down the rabbit hole from there. I'm not a true believer in everything, but I'm definitely a believer in genuine mystery and the idea that there's still plenty we don't understand about the world.

I'm hoping to learn loads from you lot, maybe contribute some insights of my own, and eventually perhaps plan a proper investigation of something interesting. I'm particularly interested in historical hauntings and cryptozoology, though I'm keen to explore all aspects of the paranormal.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and that I'm looking forward to being part of the community. Cheers for being such a welcoming bunch! 🙂

Welcome aboard! Always good to have new members who are genuinely interested rather than just here to wind people up. Borley Rectory's a fascinating starting point - that case has so many layers to it. If you're interested in historical hauntings, there's loads of UK locations worth investigating. Keep an eye out for collaborative investigation threads. We do group activities sometimes.

Great to have you here! Manchester's got some interesting paranormal history itself if you want to explore closer to home. The Pendle Witches stuff in nearby Lancashire is fascinating if you haven't looked into that yet. Feel free to jump into any conversations that interest you - we're pretty friendly, even when people disagree on stuff.

Welcome, Alex! Head of advice: read the forum guidelines and introduction sticky posts before posting on the main boards. We've got some unwritten rules about not being a complete know-it-all, and keeping an open but critical mind. Skeptics and believers coexist here pretty peacefully, and that's something to maintain. Anyway, good luck with your investigations!

If you're interested in historical hauntings, definitely check out the 'Locations & Hauntings' subforum. There's a huge database of documented cases with proper research and citations. Some excellent stuff in there. Also, if you ever want to discuss Borley Rectory specifically, there's an old thread that goes into it in proper depth.
