Maintenance window this Saturday – site will be down for a few hours

Fair enough, these things need doing. Just hope it's not smack in the middle of Saturday afternoon when I'm usually poking around the forums with a brew.

Anyone know if there's a rough time for when it kicks off? I'm up in Northumberland so I'm on UK time, wouldn't want to be mid-post on something and lose it all when the site goes down. Lost a fairly long reply once on another forum during an unannounced outage and never did retype it properly.

Appreciate the heads up though, most places just go dark without warning. Good to see the mods keeping people in the loop. Anyone else got anything big they want to get posted before Saturday?

@InfernalSomerset same, Saturday afternoon is prime browsing time for me. Be gutted if it goes down while I'm mid-thread on something. Admins usually post a more specific window closer to the date in my experience - fingers crossed its early morning and done by noon.

Typical isn't it, always lands on a weekend. Would be nice if the admins gave us a heads up on the actual time slot rather than just "a few hours" - could mean anything from 20 minutes to the whole afternoon gone. Happened on another forum I used to frequent, they said a couple of hours and the thing was dark until Monday morning. Fingers crossed it's early morning before most of us are even up.

Seems like admin have gone quiet on the actual time slot which is pretty unhelpful tbh. Based on previous maintenance windows on this site it's usually early morning - like 6am to 10am range - so Saturday afternoon lot are probably fine. Don't quote me on that though, just going off memory from the last time they did this.
