This happened on September 19th, around 8:15pm, Northern Line heading southbound from King's Cross toward Clapham Common. I'm posting now because I've been thinking about it constantly and it's doing my head in.

There was a passenger in my carriage who was... off. Not drunk, not on drugs. Just profoundly wrong. He was a middle-aged bloke, completely still, staring straight ahead. Normal clothes - grey coat, dark trousers. But his skin had this strange quality - almost translucent? And when the light hit his face from certain angles, I genuinely couldn't quite see his features clearly. Like they were slightly blurred or displaced.

The strangest bit: nobody else seemed to notice him. I watched other passengers and they literally looked through him. Not metaphorically - they'd position themselves as if he wasn't there, stepping around empty space where he was standing. At Stockwell, he just... wasn't there anymore. I didn't see him leave.

I'm not on any medication. I was sober. I'm asking this genuinely: has anyone else seen something like this on the Tube? Or have an explanation that isn't "you've gone mental"?

This is either a genuine paranormal sighting or the Tube is just that draining that your brain started hallucinating to cope 😅 But the detail about other passengers avoiding him unconsciously is interesting. If multiple people avoided the same space without realizing, that suggests something was registering on a subconscious level.

Did you try making eye contact? Or did you ask anyone else in the carriage if they'd seen him? Sometimes what feels like collective ignorance is actually just normal Tube behavior (everyone ignoring each other). But the translucent skin detail is wild. Any chance you were tired or the lighting was playing tricks?

London's got LAYERS of history. The Northern Line runs under the old Bedlam site, crosses through plague pits, over ancient burial grounds. If there's anywhere in London where you'd expect to encounter something, it's the Underground. The fact that he vanished at Stockwell is interesting - that station has its own weird reputation.

I ride the Tube daily and people are constantly appearing and disappearing, especially at crowded times. Without more concrete evidence (photos, other witnesses, follow-up sightings), this is pretty much in the "interesting anecdote" category. But keep your eyes open and report back if you see him again.

Blurred features + translucent quality + nobody seeing him + disappearing at a station = classic cryptid/paranormal entity behavior. You should file a formal report with us. Even single sightings matter when you're building a database. Has anything else unusual happened to you recently?
