I'm posting this on behalf of myself and four other people who experienced something unusual on the summer solstice (21 June 2024) on the Yorkshire Moors near Ilkley. We've discussed reporting to official channels but honestly, who would take that seriously?

Around 11:15pm, we saw lights moving across the sky - not a plane, not satellites. The movement pattern was geometric, deliberate. They formed shapes, moved in ways that don't match conventional aircraft. Roughly four or five distinct points of light, amber/orange colour, completely silent.

Duration was maybe 8-10 minutes. We all photographed it but the images are pretty poor quality (just points of light against dark sky, nothing that clearly shows the movement pattern). What we did notice: every time the lights moved, our mobile phones lost signal. Intermittent 4G drop that came back when the lights dispersed.

The Ilkley Moor area has history with UFO sightings and paranormal activity, and multiple witnesses should carry some weight. We're not claiming aliens necessarily, but we're very confident it wasn't conventional aircraft. Wanted to document it properly.

The mobile phone signal loss during the sightings is actually the most interesting detail here. That suggests electromagnetic disruption from whatever caused the lights, which rules out a lot of mundane explanations. Have you contacted your network provider to check if there were documented outages in that area at that time?

Ilkley Moor has a proper UFO history - the 1938 sighting, the 1987 incident, various other reports. If this is a genuine sighting, it fits the pattern of activity in that area. Not saying it's definitely alien but it's definitely unusual. Do you have coordinates for where you were exactly?

Could be military aircraft testing new technology - drone swarms, experimental flight patterns, that sort of thing. The electromagnetic disruption would fit with military-grade equipment. Doesn't make it alien but it might explain the unusual movement.

This is the detail I'd focus on if I were you. That's measurable, verifiable. If you have timestamps and network data, that's solid evidence of something unusual. The visual sighting is more subjective but the signal loss is testable.

Would be interested to hear if any other witnesses from that night report the same thing. Multiple independent reports of signal loss would be pretty compelling. Have you checked local forums or Facebook groups?
