Kitchen equipment malfunctioning repeatedly - coincidence or something else?

This is going to sound ridiculous but I'm getting frustrated so I'm posting anyway. For the past two months, kitchen appliances in my flat keep breaking in ways that don't make sense. Microwave started overheating food randomly. Kettle's thermostat failed twice. Coffee maker just died completely. Fridge has been making odd compressor noises.

All these things were working fine before two months ago, and I've had most of them for years without problems. Now they're all deteriorating simultaneously. At the same time, I'm experiencing other things - doors slamming when the windows are closed, items moving on my kitchen counter, that sort of thing.

I'm living in an older Victorian flat in Southwark and I'm wondering whether this is just one of those periods where stuff breaks, or whether there's something environmental causing it. Or whether I'm being absolutely daft and this is genuinely something to be concerned about from a paranormal perspective.

Electrical surges or unstable power supply could cause all of this at once. Get an electrician round to check your wiring and your electrical panel. Dodgy electrics can damage multiple appliances simultaneously and also cause electromagnetic fields that might create the sense of things being 'wrong'. This is probably a practical problem with an electrical solution.

Victorian flats have terrible wiring. Honestly mate, your building probably needs rewiring if it hasn't been done in the last twenty years. Before you start worrying about poltergeists, get that checked. Unstable power also explains the electromagnetic stuff you might be picking up on intuitively - makes you feel weird even if you're not consciously aware why.

doors slamming when the windows are closed
Air pressure differences or drafts around window and door frames in old buildings are notorious for this. Southwark's got loads of old houses with terrible seals. When there are temperature differences inside and outside, air wants to equalise and doors/windows will slam. Not paranormal, just thermodynamics.

That said, if you've genuinely got electromagnetic instability from dodgy wiring, that can contribute to experiences of unease or weirdness that makes you more prone to noticing things and ascribing them to paranormal causes. So fix the electrics first - might solve everything. If after that things are still odd, then you've got better foundation for investigating.

When did you last get a professional electrical inspection? If it's been over five years, or never, that's your answer. Get it done, could be a safety issue anyway. And keep the log of what breaks and when - might show a pattern that points to a specific circuit or area of the flat.
