Hi everyone! I'm Michael, based in Glasgow. Been absolutely fascinated by the paranormal since I was about twelve (I'm 34 now) and I've been doing my own investigations for about eight years in the Scottish Highlands and around Central Belt. Never really connected with paranormal communities before - bit isolating doing this solo - so I'm buzzing to have found Quirk Reports.

I've got hundreds of hours of audio recordings, hundreds of photographs, some video footage. Mostly investigating old castles, abandoned crofts, areas with strong historical trauma. Haven't done anything with the material really - it's just been a personal project, documenting my own experiences and whatever evidence comes up.

I'm wondering if the forum would be interested in me sharing some of this stuff? I'm not looking to be a celebrity or anything, just want to get feedback from experienced investigators. Some of my recordings are genuinely unsettling and I'd like to know if what I'm hearing is confirmation bias or if there's something actually odd happening.

Looking forward to being part of a proper community rather than just being the weird ghost guy in my friend group!

Absolutely welcome that kind of material here. We've got a whole section for evidence submission and analysis. Fair warning: you'll get skeptics picking apart everything, but that's healthy. If your recordings hold up to scrutiny, that's more valuable than a thousand uncritical believers patting you on the back.

Eight years of solo investigation is serious work. Don't be surprised if some forum regulars want to collaborate on investigations in Scotland - there's interest in your area but not many people documenting it. Might be good to share material and see if anyone wants to partner up.

Highland investigations are brilliant. Which areas have you focused on? Glencoe? Lochs? Some of that landscape has incredible paranormal reputation but it's poorly documented. Would love to hear about your experiences.

Welcome! Just a heads up: when you share recordings, people will ask a LOT of technical questions. They'll want to know what equipment you used, settings, whether you can replicate the sounds, what baseline sounds like, etc. It's not them being difficult - it's just how good analysis works. Come prepared for that and you'll do great.

The "weird ghost guy" role is honestly the best position to be in. Shows commitment. Get some of your material up in the Evidence forum and see what feedback you get. If it's solid stuff, people will take it seriously. If it needs work, they'll tell you how to improve methodology.
