Right, I've just blown through this over the bank holiday weekend and I've got to say, it's absolutely brilliant. Randles really does her homework - the level of detail about the military procedures and the timeline is immaculate. She doesn't just accept the "it was a lighthouse" explanation like some authors do.
What impressed me most was how she interviewed the actual servicemen involved. Their accounts are genuinely unsettling, especially the bit about the radiation readings. I paid £16.99 for the paperback at Waterstones and honestly, it's worth every penny.
Has anyone else read this? Would love to hear if you reckon she's made a convincing case or if you think she's gotten a bit carried away with the narrative.
