Hi everyone, lovely to be here! I've been reading the forums for about six months and finally worked up the courage to introduce myself and actually post something. I'm Sarah, I'm 34, from Brighton, and I've been interested in the paranormal since I was about eight years old when I had an experience I still can't explain (I'll get into that in a proper thread when I've got my head around posting format!)

A bit about me: I work in digital marketing, which is thrilling (not), and I spend my weekends either hiking or listening to paranormal podcasts. My partner thinks I'm absolutely mad but he's supportive. I'm most interested in hauntings, cryptozoology, and government conspiracy stuff - basically all the spicy topics. I've got loads of questions and I'm keen to learn from people who've been investigating for longer than I have.

I'm not one of those people who believes everything, but I'm also not a hardcore skeptic. I reckon something strange is definitely happening and I'm here to figure out what. Cheers for having me!

Welcome to Quirk Reports, Sarah! Brilliant to have new members. Don't worry about getting the posting format perfect - we're pretty relaxed here. Definitely do share your childhood experience when you're ready. Those early stories are often the most compelling because you've got no reason to make them up for attention, you know?

If you've got questions about how the forums work or which sections to post in, just ask. And if you want a good starting point, have a scroll through the "Beginners' Guide" sticky thread at the top of General Chat. Loads of useful resources there.

Hi Sarah! Always good to see new folks who are genuinely curious rather than just here to argue. There's definitely room for people with a balanced perspective - we get too many hardcore believers AND too many smug skeptics. The middle ground is usually where the good conversations happen.

Since you're into cryptozoology and hauntings, you'll probably love the Bigfoot & Sasquatch section and Ghost Hunting Techniques. Lots of good practical advice in there. Fair warning: the Government Disclosure forum can get a bit heated sometimes, but it's usually interesting heated!

Welcome! Just a heads-up - be careful in the Ancient Mysteries section. There's a couple of users who are lovely but absolutely will not accept any new ideas. Other than that, community's solid. Looking forward to reading your experience!
