Hello! I'm Sarah, I'm 28, from Bristol, and I've been genuinely interested in paranormal phenomena for about five years now but I've never actually joined any communities to discuss it. My mates all think I'm a bit mad for it, so I'm happy to have found somewhere I can chat about this stuff without being laughed at.

I'm particularly interested in hauntings and ghost hunting. I've done a few investigations with my own equipment (just basic stuff - digital recorder, thermal camera, that sort of thing) but I want to get more serious about it and learn from people who actually know what they're doing.

I've read through a few threads already and everyone seems really friendly and knowledgeable, which is brilliant. Looking forward to getting stuck in!

Welcome Sarah! Bristol's got some cracking haunted locations if you want to do local investigations - Penrose Hospital, Isambard Kingdom Brunel's old engineering sites, and a fair few Georgian townhouses with documented activity. You'll find our Bristol-based members in the regional forum.

Great to have you here! My advice: spend a bit of time lurking in the Ghost Hunting Techniques and Equipment Guides forums before you jump into investigations. There's a lot of nonsense out there and solid methodology is everything. Also, do a search for any existing threads about Bristol hauntings - there's probably some good local intel already posted.

Sarah, welcome! Just a heads-up: this community is mix of believers, skeptics, and jokers. Don't get discouraged if someone questions your evidence - that's how we all get better at this. The best investigators are the ones who are happy to be challenged.

Bristol's a haunting hotbed to be fair. You're in a brilliant location for this hobby. Once you've got your feet under the table here, consider joining a local investigation group - there's usually a few operating in any major city. The community here is great but nothing beats hands-on work with experienced people.

Just don't spend a fortune on equipment right away. So many beginners buy the fancy stuff before they understand what they're actually looking for. Read the reviews forum, chat to people about what works, and build up gradually. 👍
