Hi all! Finally plucking up courage to actually post rather than just scrolling through threads at midnight like some kind of paranormal creep (which I suppose I am, really).

I'm from Powys originally, now living near Caerphilly, been interested in weird stuff since I was about 12 when I saw something I couldn't explain near a stone circle on Halloween. Never properly investigated it until I found this forum about two years ago. You lot seem like actual reasonable people rather than conspiracy-max extremists, so I thought I'd give it a go.

I've got some experience with local Welsh sightings and a bit of knowledge about the folklore side of things. Also got a thermal imaging camera and too much time on my hands during winter, so I'm hoping to contribute properly once I get my head around how this place works.

Anyway - hello! Looking forward to discussing weird stuff with people who won't think I'm mental for spending a Sunday evening reading about Rendlesham Forest. 🙂

Welcome! Always good to have Welsh contributors - you lot have some of the best folklore and actual sighting reports in the UK. The area you're in has some interesting history too. Make yourself at home, jump into whatever threads interest you, ask questions if you need to navigate the site.

And yeah, Rendlesham Forest is absolutely worth the read. It's possibly the most documented close encounter case in the world. Fair use of a Sunday evening.

Caerphilly area? Oh mate, there's some proper activity reported there historically. Are you aware of the old UFO sightings from the '80s? Could be useful to compare notes. Definitely post about whatever you saw near the stone circle when you feel ready. No judgment here - everyone's got something.

Thermal imaging camera is immediately useful. We're always looking for people willing to do field work. Winter nights are prime time for anomalies in Wales - you're in a good spot for investigation. Once you're settled in, might be worth starting a thread about local hotspots. Always interested in the Welsh perspective.

Welcome to the club of midnight forum scrollers! You're among friends here. Welsh folklore is legitimate anthropological data - way older and more coherent than a lot of the stuff discussed on here. Excited to hear what you've got to contribute.
