Hi everyone, I'm Sarah, 34, from South Manchester. I've lurked on Quirk Reports for about six months after a mate showed me the forum following that Channel 4 thing on 'Unexplained Britain' last autumn. Finally decided to properly join because I've had something happen that I can't explain and I want to talk to people who won't immediately think I'm crackers.

Without getting into the full story yet (will post in Personal Encounters once I've got my bearings), let's just say I had an experience two months ago at my flat that involved the lights going completely mad - flickering in patterns I didn't know were possible - plus something my brother witnessed as well. Been trying to rationalise it ever since, but the more I read on here, the more I think there might be something to all this.

Looking forward to chatting with you lot. Seems like a genuinely nice community that takes this seriously without being too kooky. 😊

Welcome Sarah! That Channel 4 doc was brilliant - really opened a lot of people's eyes. Don't worry about being judged here. We've all had moments where we question our sanity. The key thing is you've got a witness (your brother), which immediately puts you ahead of most encounters. Definitely post the full story when you're ready. The community here is really supportive with the evidence-based stuff.

Another Manchester person! There's actually quite a bit of paranormal activity reported in and around the city. You'll fit right in. Ignore the occasional troll - we have a few 'rational skeptics' who seem to just enjoy being difficult, but mods are pretty good about keeping things civil.

Chemist here too (Cambridge). Always found it interesting how many of us in scientific fields end up believing in the unexplained. Can't wait to hear your story properly. The electrical phenomena angle is particularly interesting.

Welcome! Fair warning: once you start really engaging with this stuff, you start seeing patterns everywhere. Might want to keep a journal of odd occurrences from now on. Could be important if something else happens.
