Right so this kind of thing is genuinely interesting to me because animals picking up on something before humans do is one of the more consistent details across a lot of reported encounters. Dogs especially seem to lock onto things we cant perceive at all.
Few questions though - was it rhythmic, like footsteps with a clear pattern, or more random scrabbling? Because that distinction matters quite a bit. Also what time did it start and how long did it go on for? And did the dogs ever bark or just stare? Staring without barking is actually the bit that would unsettle me more than barking would.
We're in Pendle so I've had my share of odd nights and the animal behaviour is always the detail I pay most attention to when people describe these things. Something about it feels more credible than any other part of a report.
