Right so this caught my attention straight away. Dogs refusing to go out is one of the most consistent things across these reports, people always focus on whatever they saw or heard but the animal behaviour is the part that really sticks with me.
Had something similar up on the moors a few years back, my neighbour's dogs went absolutely silent - not barking, just silent and low to the ground - before anything happened. Took about 20 minutes before they'd move again.
What did it sound like on the roof, heavy footsteps or more of a scraping dragging sort of thing? And was there any smell you noticed, a lot of accounts mention a strong sulphur or wet animal smell before and after. That detail gets left out a lot but its worth logging if you remember anything like that.
Keen to hear more from others who've had the animal reaction without necessarily seeing anything themselves - I think theres a pattern there that doesn't get enough attention on here.
