That dog behaviour is what gets me. Animals don't lie, they just know. My old lab used to do something similar years ago when I had my first shadow person encounter - she'd sit in the middle of the room and just stare at the hallway for hours, wouldn't go near it.
Whatever was on your roof, your dogs picked up on the same energy I reckon. Did you check up there in the morning? I'd be curious whether there were any marks or scratches, or anything that looked out of place. Round here in Oregon we get the occasional animal on roofs but the dogs always sniff around like normal after, they dont act like yours did.
The fact they waited until morning is the bit that stands out to me. Like whatever it was, its presence lingered for a while. Have you had anything else happen at the property before this? Would love to hear if there's more to the story.
