Dogs absolutely do not lie about this stuff. Mine did the exact same thing years back in my old place off Magazine Street - dead still, ears flat, tracking something across the ceiling that I could not see or hear. Went on for about 20 minutes and then nothing.
The footsteps on the roof bit is interesting though. Was it rhythmic or more random? There's actually a pattern difference between what people report with animal activity versus the other kind of reports and the random unpredictable movement tends to get flagged more often in encounter accounts.
Could be completely mundane of course - raccoons are bold as hell in a lot of areas. But the dog reaction combined with it is worth paying attention to. They pick up on infrasound and EM fluctuations that we just cant detect consciously.
Did anything else feel off in the house? Temperature, smell, that weird pressure feeling some people describe? Would help narrow down whats actually worth investigating here.
