Right so this is the kind of thing that genuinely gets me. Dogs refusing to go out is one of those details that's almost impossible to fake or exaggerate because anyone who owns a dog knows how stubborn they can be about going for a wee, especially at night. Mine has done similar and it's honestly unsettling in a way that's hard to shake off.
What were the sounds like exactly? Rhythmic like footsteps, or more random? And did you actually go outside yourself to check the roof afterwards in the morning? Any marks, scratches, anything displaced?
I've been following a few BEK reports lately where witnesses mention animals refusing to approach certain areas beforehand, and I keep wondering if animals are picking up on something we just cant register. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a connection to whatever this was.
Definitely worth keeping a log if it happens again, even just notes on your phone with timestamps. Pattern recognition is everything with this sort of thing.
