That's a proper unsettling one right there. The dog behaviour is what really gets me - animals don't lie, full stop. They pick up on things we've long since trained ourselves to ignore.
I had something similar back in 2019, living in my old place near Salford. My neighbour's cat - who would wander in most nights - absolutely refused to enter the house for about three days straight. No obvious reason. Then on the second night I heard this low, rhythmic sound coming from the area around the loft. Not quite footsteps, but deliberate. Like something that understood weight distribution.
A few things worth considering with your situation:
Timing - what time did it start? A lot of these reports cluster around 2–4am, Weather conditions - was it a clear night? Oddly, clearer nights seem to produce more of these accounts, Any unusual smells? Some BEK and entity encounter reports mention a sulphur or metallic odour beforehand
The roof angle is interesting too. There's a decent thread somewhere in the archives here about vertical approach vectors - things that come down rather than approach at ground level.
Did you manage to check the roof in daylight? Any marks, displaced tiles, anything like that? That's always my first step - rule out the mundane, then let the strange breathe a bit.
Would love to hear more detail if you're up for sharing. What breed is the dog as well? Certain breeds seem far more reactive to these kinds of incidents than others.
